The three of us have been very busy bees!

She is also finally saying goodbye to the Sunset neighborhood after two years as Artist-in-Residence at Moberly Arts and Cultural Centre with the other brilliant artists of Something Collective.
Remy has returned from his trip to Hong Kong and is currently at the Salt 2013 NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL from May 25th - June 2nd.
Milton is currently directing two upcoming shows for HKX:
June 7th - 8th, 2013: Roots of Change [Art for Impact 10]
June 11th - 14th, 2013: NEW(BEES)

2012 was a fantastic year; thank you to our supporters, our families, our friends, and our collaborators! We feel extremely fortunate to have such wonderful people surrounding us (we're probably talking about you...yes, YOU)!
On New Years, HKX performed a newly devised piece for the Canadian (Frame)lines Launch Party.
The Commodification of Bears, the extremes of our depravity put to a looped sample from 'The Great Dictator", a broom, the implications of facelessness, and a love affair between you and I.
Here are some pictures from our involvement in the event:
Many thanks to Ryder and Alex for having us perform; they recently embarked on their journey and are doing some really sweet work -- we're sending them our best wishes!
2013 is gearing up to be a huge year for HKX and we're really excited to keep the work going. If you haven't already, please 'Like' our Facebook page to keep up with our most immediate and recent updates.
We can't wait to share some of our really exciting projects and initiatives with you, but more to come later! Until then: Happy New Years everyone!
With love from HKX,
Natalie, Remy, and Milton
There's a lot happening this week for Hong Kong Exile!
Remy is performing in 'The Sandalwood Box' for the Directing Projects [10 Lies 1 Truth] at SFU Woodward's; there are 10 fantastic shows to see, directed by our close friends!
Milton is playing Orestes in 'The Libation Bearers (The Flame)' with Rice & beans theatre; 3 more shows to catch at the PAL theatre!
Among many other things, Natalie is busy organizing the upcoming Art for Impact evening happening on Dec. 8th, entitled 'Ou(x)po'.
Hopefully we'll see you at one or all of these things!
All 4 shows sold out + collaboration with some fantastic artists + amazing feedback = ASCENSION [String Quintet + Dance]. Here are some pictures for now; more media to follow soon!
So now that we've finished with ASCENSION, what's next?
Natalie is performing in Prince Rupert, Vancouver, Kitimat, and Courtney for Mascall Dance's 2012 tour of Homewerk.
Remy has a piece being performed by the ERATO Ensemble in their upcoming concert: Water.
Milton is rehearsing with rice & beans theatre for their upcoming production of The Libation Bearers.
...and there's still more that we're doing on the side. More news to come soon!
After me, the deluge. Everything is water. Water moves as river; river as transport. Transport as communication. Communication as idea. Idea as individual as individual as individual. Collected drops, drop -- and then, we are the deluge.
Getting ready for our all-day community art installation with New West; swing by the River Market on Saturday, Sept.29th for the annual River Festival! HKX will be there hosting several other things:

Busy weekend @ the River Market. An open dance rehearsal + film screenings!
We've acquired some sweet desks for a great price! Now, we've assembled a super workspace. Our goal with this arrangement is to create sight lines between users, so it's easy to talk address one another, to bounce ideas back and forth. Thanks, Clinton Ackerman & the Ackerman family, for helping us move!
